It's out! The Cottages and Bungalows issue I've been waiting for is officially in stores! As most of you know - our master bathroom remodel is included. Wahoo! Jickie, the editor, was a pleasure to work with, and I was flattered she asked to include our bathroom in this issue. I can't wait to go out and get a copy. But since I also can't wait to show you our 'after' {and so you are no longer in suspense} I've posted the pics below. Of course I'll give you an update once I can get a copy of the magazine in my hands!

It's beautiful and classic looking. I love that you kept it fairly neutral so that you can add pops of color depending upon your mood. Great work! How do you like that sink? Also, what is that little print/framed passage above the toilet? Can't wait to see your feature in the magazine too - I'll have to try to check it out.

ReplyDeleteWow! I can't believe that is the same room. Just a little tip- we had wainscoting in the bathroom of
ReplyDeleteour first home, and if you don't religiously run the fan when showering (and for awhile after your shower is over) the wood can expand and buckle from the moisture and the seems start to move apart. Just thought I would share, as we definitely wished that someone would have warned us. :/

OH WOW! What an impressive after! You guys did a fabulous job, and I'm impressed by those floor tiles. For 50 year old tile, it's in great shape, and does add a great amount of colour to the space!

I just happened across your bathroom pictures. Did you remove all of the wall tile, or just cover it with the wainscoting?
ReplyDeleteCharlie, we left the wall tile up and covered it with the bead board. It's been up for over 2 years now and holding up great! We're about to do something similiar in the guest bathroom.
ReplyDeleteHello. I know it's been quite a while, but, could you tell us how y'all did the baseboard overlay on the old ceramic tile? Most tiles of that time are curved toward the bottom, by the floor. You mentioned LOTS of Liquid Nails. If you have any additional info (that you can remember!), can you share it? There aren't a lot of "wainscoting over ceramic tile" tutorials out there. Thanks!
